It also aims to provide high quality services solutions with quick reaction time to Thales Customers in India as well as for Thales Units. The Group is a long term Partner of the Indian Armed Forces and is equally present in the civil domain in the fields of aerospace, security and transportation.

Thales India’s activities include Project Management, installation, integration, commissioning, validation, warranty and maintenance support, training and logistics to meet military and civilian needs of our Customers.

Thales India Software unit was set up in 2006 at Chennai to build a sustainable software production center dedicated exclusively to Thales, with the ability to address the full life cycle of a software project. The aim is to fulfill the need in the huge market for air traffic control software

We are looking for Head of Strategy & Marketing, India

Summary of Position :
Strategy
: with a clear understanding of the business environment, the job holder will work closely with the Region and countries’ heads  and key internal stakeholders, in particular the DGDI functional head and other DGDI central teams, to formulate and drive execution of the strategic plan to grow Thales in the Region, organically and through partnerships.

Marketing: job holder will collaborate with business leaders to understand and analyse the market, to ensure that Thales’ products & services correspond to customer needs and expectations. The incumbent will also: i) implement the Corporate Marketing Plan for the Region; ii) support business development actions during the upstream opportunity phase; iii) co-lead the Innovation Hub processes working with internal stakeholders and customers.

Job Responsibilities :

Strategy:
· Formulates 5-year regional/country strategic plans, with clear understanding of the economic and industrial trends of the market (including customer needs and competitor offerings) in order to secure Thales’ position and growth in the market.
· Identifies growth opportunities, organic and inorganic , and prepare report/ recommendations for management review/ action
· Contributes in promoting the region’s markets within the Group to attract Global Business Unit (GBU) and exporting units’ interest and to grow their local presence
· Manages interfaces with GBUs and exporting units that have business stakes in the country to influence their strategic business plans including industrial localisation and corresponding action plans.
· Brings operational support for the delivery of strategic actions such as partnerships, mergers & acquisitions etc. Lead or co-lead specific actions, where applicable, in coordination with other Group units and functions.
· Manages country reporting to Group Corporate and GBUs, and channel feedback to country management.

Marketing:
· Generates a Marketing Plan aligned with the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) and coordinate corresponding actions
· Develops Thales image in the country by delivering consolidated and valuable content/messages to the market.
· Supports Key Account Managers/ Sales & Business development teams in promoting Thales’ solutions during the upstream opportunity phase
· Understands/ analyses the customer’s mission, operational environment and priorities.
· Drives marketing efforts and defines the best solution (product/system/service) addressing customers’ needs during the upstream opportunity phase
· Broadens the customer’s understanding of Thales solutions in connection with their missions, and provides customer/market information feedback to the relevant GBUs.
· Analyse the accessible and non-accessible market, customer needs and developments, budgeted investment programmes, competition (strategy, products), and contribute to medium-term order intake forecasts with the sales forces
· Deploys adapted tools to support strategic business intelligence and keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
· Co-leads the Innovation Hub process (co-innovation sessions with customers) working with internal stakeholders and customers

Job Specifications :
· University degree in any discipline
· At least 8 years of relevant experience in related industry (i.e. aerospace, rail transportation, defence, security etc.)
· Results-oriented, customer-focused, analytical, good team spirit and management skills, excellent communication & writing skills, good attention to detail, strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure in a global matrix organisation
